Another Big Project

One week after Hannah turned in her last big project, the diorama, she came home with another big project to do and turn in. That project was an autobiographical quilt. The project was based off of a story that they were reading in class about a quilt, therefore the students had to make their own.

After having two weeks to complete it, we finished her quilt yesterday afternoon and it is due today. It was a lot of work, but it turned out cute, and will definitely be saved in the memory box!

Student of the Month

A couple days ago we were notified that Hannah had been chosen as Student of the Month in her class! Today was the Student of the Month assembly where they were honored and given their special folder with kids meal vouchers inside. We celebrated tonight for dinner by using one, it was a treat for us all...I didn't have to cook and Hannah got to eat out! LOL.

Route 66

This last Thursday night, my brothers band The Riverside Blues Club was the opening band for the four day Route 66 Rendezvous. The event was sponsored by Stater Bros Markets, the company in which my Dad works for. So I made these cute shirts for my girls to wear. The shirts my nieces are wearing are Riverside Blues Club shirts. We didn't venture too far away from the stage area, too many crazies, but we did stop and take a picture with the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Unfortunately, there weren't enough wieners for all the girls. It was a night of great music and a lot of laughing. It was also a late night considering Hannah had school the next day. But she did great at getting up and going despite being tired.

Disneyland with Friends!

Today, we went to Disneyland. Hooray for not being blocked out on Saturdays! Unfortunately, our friends' passes are expiring on Monday and aren't renewing at this time, but hopefully soon! :) So today, we went together as one last hoorah! We had no agenda except for it to be an easygoing day with no pressure to do anything, see anything, etc. And it was a great day indeed!

Later in the afternoon, we met up with some other friends from church and school and spent the remainder of our day with them. We had so much fun hanging out with them and getting to know them better. The kids all got along so well, and Hannah loved hanging out and being silly with Hailey. Here are pictures from our day of adventures.

Proudly presenting, "A Tale of a Goofball Princess."
Hannah and Bethany. Aren't they cute princesses??
Joining up with our friends and watching the Pixar Play Parade together.
With ten people in our party, we had an entire row
to ourselves on Soarin over California. That was cool!
Hannah and Hailey being silly with their 3D glasses from Toy Story Mania.
Me and Amy decided to be responsible and leave before we were totally exhausted. So when California Adventure closed at 9:00, rather than go back into Disneyland with our friends, we headed to the tram and to our car. It was such a wonderful day and as always, we're looking forward to our next trip, and looking forward to when our friends will renew their passes and can go with us again! :)

Family Fun and Fellowship

At a mini amusement center in Murrieta tonight was a Christian fellowship evening and we were lucky enough to attend totally Free! Amy got tickets for both our families from the local radio station. The tickets included unlimited use of the attractions and even included a couple slices of pizza and a soda.

Having so much on the bumper boats that also allows you to squirt water at your fellow boaters. Look at poor Keith, he's soaked!!! He was chilled the rest of the evening!

Ahhh, one of her most favorite meals, pizza!
Don't mess with us, or we'll get ya in laser tag!
I didn't get too many pictures of Hannah playing miniature golf because she went ahead of us and played with Amy's sister and nephew. But here she is at the end of 18 holes! We had a great evening of fun and fellowship with our two families, and even better yet, it was FREE! Thanks Air1!!!

Project Playhouse

Project Playhouse currently have playhouses on tour at a nearby outdoor mall. These playhouses aren't just any playhouse, they are literally little houses complete with working electricity, some with televisions, open and closing windows, and one even had air conditioning. The money raised by these auctions go towards homeless shelters and housing people who don't have homes.

There were six houses on tour. You couldn't go in them because they will be up for auction at the end of the month, but doors were open and windows were open. These houses were amazing! They reminded me of the cool playhouse my Uncles built my cousins at a house they used to live at.

Emma was with us for the night and all three of the girls were in awe and loved seeing all the houses. It was fun and I'm glad we went and saw them while we had the chance. We even entered a raffle to win one. LOL.

This is the inside of the cabin.
This was my favorite.
This beach house is the one they are raffling away.

TGIF / Homework Woes

Thank goodness it's Friday, which not only does that mean we are on the brink of having two days off, but more importantly, it means NO HOMEWORK!!!

Hannah has a lot of homework this year. She usually has three worksheets, reading, multiplication sheet to do and be timed on, multiplication flash cards, and spelling words. It's a lot more than last years one worksheet and reading for 20 minutes.

This week and last, we've not had the reading, because we've had to work her diorama, that is due next Tuesday. And working on that takes longer than the usual reading we have.

My friend back East said the work load in 3rd grade was a lot more.

I didn't believe her.

Now I do.

Labor Day Happenings

We spent Labor Day keeping cool and enjoying good company over at Uncle Robbie and Auntie's house. The girls all had sooo much fun spending the afternoon together!
