A Surprise!

McKenzie is spending the afternoon with Gramma today. We suprised Hannah when picking her up from school with her cousin. We thought McKenzie would like to see Hannah's school and knew Hannah would love for her to see it! Hannah was so cute in pointing out the Kindergarten swings and climbing structure, and "up there on the hill, that play structure is for the first graders, where I'll be able to play soon". She was so excited to be showing McKenzie her school.

We put McKenzie's car seat in our car and off to lunch we went. After lunch we went to the local Vetern's Hospital where they have beautiful grounds and lakes with ducks and geese. The girls had a great time feeding the ducks. We even spotted a couple turtles sunning themselves.

All Packed and Ready to Go...

...to Gramma and Papa's house for the weekend. Upon picking Hannah up from school, both girls will be spending the weekend with my parents. We are going out of town for our 10th wedding anniversary. Hannah is very excited and already has the weekend all scheduled and thought out as to what she plans to do. LOL.

Disney on Ice

Disney on Ice is in the area over the next couple of days with the Princess Classics on ice. Knowing how much Hannah would love to see it, I've been looking on Ticketmaster for the last two days in search of seats better than in the nosebleed section. LOL. This afternoon, after about an hour of searching Ticketmaster and other online ticket sites, two awesome seats became available through Ticketmaster for tonights show! I wasted no time in securring the seats, they were better than any that I'd seen in my search. Hannah wore her Snow White dress, looking cute as always. One lady even stopped us and asked if her daughter could have have her picture taken with Snow White. LOL. Everywhere you looked there were princesses. We walked around and looked at the merchandise booths, stopping to buy a new princess coloring book, and then headed for our seats. The seats were better than I had imagined or been able to visulize based on seating chart. We were smack dab in the middle of the ice rink, only ten rows from the front. The seats were PERFECT! The show itself, as anything done by Disney, was first class!! The sets were awesome. The costumes were awesome. The choreography, the skaters all were phenomenal. The show lasted just over two hours with an intermission. Hannah did great until we came back from intermission, which is when she started to fade. It was afterall, close to 9:00pm and her bedtime is between 7:30-8:00pm. The show ended and there was a mass exodous from the building and to the parking lot. It was pretty funny to look around and see princesses being carried by their daddies, or some just outright having a meltdown because they were so tired. But Hannah did great, she made it to the car, and lasted long enough for me to put her jammies on and reminisce about some of her favorite parts, and then she was out like a light for the drive home. The show was great, and I'm glad Hannah and I got to go!

Pizza Anyone??

I hate playdough. I frown upon the suggestion everytime Hannah asks to play playdough. Although I must admit this afternoon's session of playing with playdough went rather well...not a single piece was dropped on the floor, nor tracked onto the carpet. LOL. Rachel had a taste or two, but that was about it.

Here is the playdough masterpiece of the day, a joint effort by mom, dad, and Hannah...pizza anyone??

Friday Night Fun!

The doorbell rang this afternoon, and much to Hannah's suprise, she found her best friend Emma at the door! Emma's parents were hoping to go to dinner totally kid free with another couple and what better opportunity for Hannah and Emma than to have some Friday night fun! Emma arrived shortly before dinner and stayed for a couple of hours. In those short hours they managed to get a lot of playing done...Princess Polly Pockets, played dress up, and watched a movie, and much more!

Don't Grumble Over Spilled Milk

Steven received a call on his work phone this morning from Hannah's school. Positive thoughts aren't the first thing that come to mind when you see the school name pop up on Caller ID. First thing I thought of was that Hannah was sick. No, it was much simpler than that. Hannah had spilled chocolate milk on her clothes and simply needed a change of clothes. LOL.

At first I was kinda annoyed, for a couple of reasons: 1) I had just put Rachel down for a nap and she was already asleep 2) it's not just a short drive up the street to the school. It's a ten mile round trip to the school. and 3) she only had an hour left of school! Couldn't she just deal with the spilled milk til I picked her up?? LOL. By the time I took her clean clothes and came home, it'd be time for me to leave and go get her from school. I sure didn't want to do that!

Thankfully, one of the perks of having a husband who works from home is that I was able to leave Rachel napping. I got to the school and helped Hannah change into new clothes and then I went ahead and signed in and helped in the classroom for the remainder of the schoolday. Hannah was glad I did that, she always enjoys having me in the classroom helping out. And I was glad I was able to do that and was sorry for having grumbled over spilled milk.

Cousin Kym's Wedding

Hannah calls my cousin, "Cousin Kym". This evening Cousin Kym got married to Jack. The verdict as to whether or not he'll now be referred to as "Cousin Jack" is still out.

Hannah had been asked to be the flower girl, but over time, she became shy and self conscious about being up in front of people and decided she didn't want to be the flower girl. But today, as we were getting ready and putting on her pretty dress, she changed her mind and wished she had said yes. LOL. My Aunt and Kym were so thoughtful to place goodie bags on the girls chairs. Inside were things to keep them busy during the reception...a miniature My Little Pony, a slinky, a silly straw, which the girls loved using with their lemonade, small deck of cards, some bracelets, a Wooly Willy (you know the picture of the bald man and you use the black magnet dust to give him some hair and a beard), and a magic eight ball. The goodie bag was defiantely a hit and it kept the girls busy(thanks Aunt Judy!!). One of the things Hannah absolutely could not wait to do was dance with her cousin McKenzie. And once the dance floor was open to all, the girls had a blast! Even Rachel got out there and danced. It was so adorable to watch the girls dancing and having a good time. It was a beautiful wedding and a great time was had by all, at least everyone in our family. And "Cousin Kym" looked like she was a having a great time too!

Beauty, An All Day Process

My cousin is getting married this evening, so the process of becoming beautiful for the occassion started early, 7:30am to be exact. The process started with putting rollers in Hannah's hair, and later in the day, painting her finger nails.

Vacation Comes to an End

Today marks the end of Hannah's school vacation. It's back to the grind come Monday morning.

This last week of vacation didn't exactly go the way I had hoped...it rained a couple days, and then our car was in the shop a couple days and then it's raining again today! I had hoped to make it to Disneyland one day this week and shopping at an outlet mall, but we basically hung out at home and got some things done around here.

I can't believe that the next time Hannah is off track from school, her Kindergarten year will be behind her and she'll start back to school as a first grader!
