Spending Time at Gramma & Papa's

Hannah spent a few days here and a few days there, over the last week with Gramma and Papa. Papa was on vacation and had some things to get done out in the yard. Hannah worked hard at helping Papa. I'm not sure how much of a help she was, but it was company and someone to talk Papa's ear off nonetheless. :)

Sporting Papa's hat and glasses and her garden gloves. Quite a sight!
Isn't she the cutest country bumpkin??

Hannah and the White Witch

We went to Disneyland today, just the three of us. Hannah's been wanting me to see the White Witch, from the Chronicles of Narnia the last several times we've gone. But we always manage to miss her. Not today! We sat and watched her make her grand entrance and her greet several guests, before going and getting batteries for the camera and getting in line to take our own picture with her. Before posing for the picture, the White Witch confronted Hannah on the fact that she had seen her sitting on the steps off to the side. She was concerned she was perhaps a spy for Aslam, LOL.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!! In honor of the day, I threw together a luncheon and invited my mom and my sister-in-law and two neices over! It wasn't that quickly thrown together, LOL, but it wasn't until Friday that I finalized the idea and did the inviting. Which is rather last minute for me.

Anyways, the four cousins had a great time playing out in our backyard on the swing set and in the Little Tykes house. It was a beautiful day and they spent the majority of the time outside. As always, Hannah enjoys playing with her cousins. Here she is with Mckenzie, who is blow drying her hair.

Reading!!

Hannah is getting so good at sounding out words and reading. She can read most of Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham. Here, she's demonstrating her ability to Daddy.

Playing Computer Games

Hannah loves to play games on the computer. A lot of times in the afternoon, this is a common sight, Rachel joining Hannah in her chair and watching!

Lunch and a Playdate

We were invited this afternoon over to a classmates house for lunch and to play. We've been to his house for lunch and for playing once before, and it was nice to be able to go visit again. This time a few other classmates were invited, but only one other family could make it.

With only days before Valentine's Day, lunch had a Valentine's theme to it. The PB & J sandwiches were heart shaped and the sweet treats follwing lunch were Valentine decorated cupcakes and cookies. Each of the kids also went home a heart shaped box of conversation hearts. We took heart shaped rice krispies in pretty Valentine cello bags for each of Hannah's friends.

The lunch was great, as was the fellowship us moms were able to have. And of course, the kids enjoyed reuniting since they've been off track over a week now.

A Check Up at the Dentist

Hannah went to the dentist today for a cleaning and a check up. We've been concerned about her teeth because she grinds them something awlful when she sleeps, so hard that it's waken us up on a couple of occassions! My mom has said the same of when she's spent the night at her house. The dentist said the grinding is wearing her teeth down, but because they are baby teeth and will fall out anyways, they don't do anything about it. Not to mention that kids this age commonly won't keep a mouth guard in at night anyways, so that's a couple of hundred dollars more times than not, a waste of money. He said we'll hope she outgrows it once her permanent teeth come in, if not, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. But we're happy to report Hannah had no cavities and the hygenist says that she has the beginnings of a loose tooth!!!! Boy was Hannah excited about that!!!

To The Park...

The wind is suppose to hit us for the next three days, winds so strong that we usually stay indoors and avoid going outside. So to enjoy the beautiful day without the wind, we packed a lunch and went to the park for lunch and to feed the ducks. We asked our neighbor friends if they wanted to join us, and they did!

Changing Things Around...

Hannah has a new look to her room! I had told her that after I had cleared out all the stuff in Rachel's room that I had accumulated for a yard sale, that I would change her room around. This afternoon we did just that!

We moved the Little Tikes Kitchen into Rachel's room. Something Hannah was looking forward to in hopes of avoiding the messes Rachel makes with pulling out all the containers of food in the refridgerator and messing up her room. And for the first time, her bed is in the middle of the room, for the last 3 years, it's been up against a wall because we weren't sure if she'd fall out with two open sides. LOL. Her room looks great! Like a little girls room now that the kitchen and some of the toy clutter has been put away and moved around!
