A Swingin Good Time!!!!

We've been given a swing set by my Aunt and Uncle. It was their neices and they no longer have a need for it, so it was offered to us!!!

We went and got it early last week, and Steven put it together Friday night. Hannah loves it!!!! Actually both the girls love it! Rachel loves climbing all over the glider and going down the slide. I bought a baby swing off Ebay and I'm going to change out one of those swings to put in it's place for Rachel!!

Whooo Hoooo It's Vacation Time!

It's official, Hannah is off track and on vacation! We were suppose to go on vacation to the Central Coast, but it's not looking like we'll be able to go this time. So here are some things we'd like to do while Hannah is on vacation:

* make a couple trips to our Happy Place
* spend the night at Gramma and Papa's
* spend a few days with Gramie
* go to the Pumpkin Patch
* go to the beach
* invite cousin Mckenzie over for a sleepover
* go to Oak Glen since it's Apple Season

I'm sure a few other things will be added to the list as the weeks go by!

A Busy Morning at School...

Today was my day to help out in Hannah's class. As if it wasn't a busy morning with finishing up workbooks, getting ready for vacation, and having a party, the entire school gathered together for a special ceremony.

Two weeks ago, the school did a Walk a Thon and collected pledges and money on behalf of the Hurricane Katrina victims. The students collected over $24,000 from the pledges and donations!! The special ceremony was presenting a check for that amount to a representative from the American Red Cross.

Hannah's class is directly behind the 'check'. Hannah is in a pink shirt.

Following the presentation to the Red Cross, the kids had thier party. The kids had a great time!

The End is Nearing...

The end of Hannah's first trimester of Kindergarten that is!!

Hannah has only one more week of school and then is on vacation until October 23rd, an entire month! The class is having a "Shape Party" at the end of their morning next Friday for celebrating going off track. As Room Mom, I have come up with a list of ideas for the snacks and treats to represent the shapes the kids have been learning. It should be a fun morning!

Today also marks the end of Hannah's week as the Star Student of the week. She turned in pictures last week. When she arrived at school on Monday morning, the Star Student Bulletin Board was all hers! Her pictures were on display for everyone to see!

Doing Homework

Mondays mean a new homework packet to work on during the week. We try to get a little extra done on Monday evenings since soccer practice is on Wednesdays. Here's Hannah working identifying things that start with the letter "B".

Hannah's 1st Game

Hannah had her first game today. At this age, they don't officially keep score, it's more for just fun, but there was a girl on the opposing team who was for sure keeping track of the score as she was making a $1 for every goal she made. LOL.

Hannah is #8. She's the 4th one from the left. Hannah had fun. She played hard. Our team only has 7 girls, which leaves only 1 girl to sub for 6 others. The girls play 3 on 3 on two fields side by side. So Hannah played the entire first half and part of the second half before breaking down and needing a break. It was a noon game, so it was hot and it was a lot of work following that ball from one end of the field to the other end and back again. She had fun though and is excited for practice on Wednesday.

I'm a Soccer Mom!

It's official, I'm a soccer mom! LOL. We signed Hannah up for soccer last night and she had her first practice this evening. She was so excited to go. Actually, she's been excited since we bought her cleats, shin guards, and official soccer ball last night.
She's on the Lavender Lightening team!! And boy was she ever excited to see that her uniform was purple, her favorite color!! She has her first game on Saturday. it should be a lot of fun!

Keeping Cool with some Friends

We went to a friends house after school today for lunch and swimming. Here's Hannah with friends Alex and Zach!

Another Trip to our Happy Place

The girls and I made another trip to our "Happy Place" today. We met up with our friend Carolyn and her two kids, going late this afternoon and staying into the evening.

We've been going to Disneyland with Carolyn and Katie since Hannah and Katie were just weeks old. Unfortunately this was the first time we've been able to go together all summer! And now with both girls officially in Kindergarten on different schedules, it may become more difficult in getting our schedules to line up.

A trip to Disneyland just wouldn't be complete without visitng at least one Princess!

Planning out how they are going to get that sword out of the stone.

Star Student of the Week!

Hannah came home from school today with a paper congratulating her for being picked for Star Student of the Week! This is a new thing that Miss Cejka has started, and according to Hannah, she's the first girl to be chosen!

The paper instructs us to bring in pictures from Hannah as a baby until present and an award or other object she'd like to display for all her friends to see. The pictures will be put up on the special "Star Student" bulletin board.

We're so proud of Hannah!

Sharing Something Special

I recently had Rachel's 12 month pictures taken in the very same dress I had Hannah's 12 month pictures taken in. It was the very dress that I had my 7 month pictures taken in. Up until last night I thought they were my 12 month pictures, but my mom informed me otherwise. :)

This dress was worn by me, and my two daughters! Something special indeed!
