Tour de Grandparents

Hannah is currently on a Tour de Grandparents. LOL.

Sunday after church, she went home with my parents, Gramma and Papa for two days. And I've just returned home from taking Hannah up to her Gramie's house, my mother in law's, for two days.

Hannah's cousin is currently visiting from Northern California. Hannah was excited to get to spend some time with her. Tomorrow, Gramie and Grandpa Steve are taking both the girls to Disneyland! And I believe a trip to the zoo is in the works for Saturday.

Hannah will return home Saturday afternoon sometime.

New Pencils...Just for HANNAH!

Hannah got a special "Going to School" present from her Gramma and Papa yesterday. It was a personalized canvas pencil bag complete with over 50 personalized pencils with Hannah's first and last name! There'll be no mistaking who has who's pencils now! LOL

The Countdown is On...

Hannah starts kindergarten in less than a week, next Tuesday. A couple of weeks ago, Aunt Kim, Uncle Ed, and cousins Ryan and Abby, sent her a special package in celebration of her starting school. I have been saving it until it got closer to the start of school. Since there's such a short time until school starts, I let Hannah open her package this morning so that she could play with what was inside.

The last couple of trips we've made to the mall, Hannah has wanted to go into the Build a Bear Workshop. She was so exicted to open up the present to find a miniature Build Your Own Bear, complete with an outfit for going to school, along with a couple other outfits! She named her snuggly.

Ahoy Matey!

"Ye be hereby summoned to a festive gathering. A Pirates Night if ye will. Treasure and a great feast are but a portion of our spoils. All lilly livered inlanders caught without proper pirate attire will be forced to walk the plank!"

Need I say more??...we were invited to a Pirate party tonight! There was no special reason such as a birthday or celebration, just a time to get together for food, fun, and fellowship with friends from church. We had a great time!

A Trip to the Beach...

With less then 3 weeks between preschool ending and the starting of Kindergarten, it doesn't leave much time for doing things typical of summer break. There are a couple of things we'd like to do before school starts, and one of those things we did today...a trip to the beach!

We went to Newport Beach with Gramma and had a great morning! We got to the beach shortly after 9:30 and enjoyed the not yet crowded beach. We enjoyed a picnic lunch, hunting for shells, and talking about our upcoming vacation in October, to our family's favorite vacation destination, Pismo Beach.

The beach was becoming crowded and we wanted to miss the afternoon traffic, so we started packing up and heading to the car about 12:30. As we were loading up the car there were people circling the lot for places to park. One car waited for our spot for the 20 minutes it took to load the car!!!

Anyways, it's officially summer, and we've made our first trip to the beach!

Do you hear that??

Hannah amazed by the fact that she can hear the ocean in the sea shell she found. LOL. Little did she know it was really the roar of the ocean right behind her!

Goodbye Preschool, Hello Kindergarten!

Today was Hannah's final day of preschool. For the last two years she has gone two days a week to a nearby preschool. She started off in the Pooh Bear class when she was 3. Within the first week of her being in preschool we noticed such a difference in Hannah's social interactions and overall approach of things. In September, she became a Busy Bee, and is now 5.

It was a little hard today saying goodbye to the teachers, espcially when the teachers were tearing up at the sight of the children who came to them once so little and young, now going off to Kindergarten. Hannah promised both of her preschool teachers she would come back and visit on her breaks from school. And we'll be back in the Fall of 2007 when Rachel is old enough to go to preschool.

Time to go their separate ways...

Hannah and Emma have been best friends ever since they were born. They've been together in preschool for the last two years, and now they are going their separate ways to start Kindergarten in different schools, on different schedules. Hannah will be going to public school, on a year round schedule. And Emma will join her big brother at a private school, on a traditional school year. While they won't be going to school everyday with one another, they will still see each other at church on Sundays!

Year End Picnic

Today was the year end picnic for Hannah's preschool class, The Busy Bees. One of the room moms brought cupcakes with little graduation cap picks, another room mom brought felt graduation caps. It was so cute to see the kids all line up wearing their caps and then one by one going to Mrs. Gonzalez to receive their certificate of completion of preschool in the Busy Bee class.

Hannah's Own Blog!!

I've decided to start a blog for Hannah and her happenings!

Just a little history on Hannah...

Hannah was born April 15, 2000, our little Tax Day baby. She had a rough first year that included 3 hospitalizations in only 2 months. Hannah had a swallowing problem with liquids that resulted in choking and aspiration pneumonia, which landed her in the hospital 2 of the 3 times. The other time she was admitted to the hospital was due to the diagnosis of Plyoric Stenosis. This diagnois required surgery, which we were later told was unnecessary. The Lord touched Hannah when she was 18 months old and she's been eating and swallowing just fine ever since then.

Hannah brings such joy to our life and to our family in a way that only Hannah can. Her little personality has developed so much over the last couple of years. A lot over the past 9 months since becoming a big sister. She is a loving, caring, and nuturing big sister and loves her baby sister.

Some of the things Hannah loves to do is play with her neighborhood friends, which she does on almost a daily basis. She loves going to Disneyland, just as much as her mommy does! And she loves spending time with her Gramma and Papa.

Hannah is about to embark on a new adventure...starting Kindergarten!! My plan is to use this blog to share the happenings of Hannah and all that this new adventure includes!
